July 16th, 1942 rounded up by French police with her mother, sister and more than 12.000 other Jews/ „Vel d´hiv roundup“

Mother pushed her girls towards the edge of the crowd/They escaped because the two policeman who saw them looked away

The mother was arrested and deported/Vel d´hiv/Drancy/Auschwitz

Rachel only saw her one more time from a distance with binoculars

Has been telling her story in schools throughout France for many years

Helped found the group that has placed plaques with the names of deported Jewish students all over Paris
